The worst six months in more than a decade: what the government must do about road deaths
A road trauma advocacy group says the Federal Government needs to go back to the drawing board in order to manage Australia’s steadily climbing vehicular death toll.
Australian Automotive Association Managing Director Michael Bradley told Oliver Peterson on 6PR there’s a very straightforward solution available, yet the Federal Government has so far avoided restructuring the National Road Safety Strategy, despite the Zero target looking further and further out-of-reach.
“Clearly show that our collective approach to road trauma management is just not right, and we have to have a better think about it,” Mr Bradley said.
“We’re not heading for zero… we’re pushing [the government] hard because these numbers are telling us terrible stories.”
