Apple earbuds have updated their software for use as clinical-grade hearing aids in Australia after the tech giant received regulatory clearance from the TGA.

Life and Technology host Charlie Brown told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that the Apple AirPods Pro 2 has been approved as a hearing aid substitute.

“It’s designed to compete against over-the-counter hearing aids.”
