The stand-off between the Australian Government and Facebook’s parent company Meta continues as more reports of Facebook Marketplace-related crimes come in.

Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman Bruce Billson told Gary Adshead on 6PR  Mornings small businesses are becoming more and more vulnerable to dodgy Marketplace meetups.

“In a retail sense, that’s weeks where your doors aren’t open and you aren’t getting customers,” he said.

“We’ve said to these platforms that they need to do better otherwise governments will regulate against them. They need to do better.”
