The Australian Nurses’ Federation is one of many institutions trying to understand the context and causes behind why a 13-year-old had been allegedly raped by another teen in Perth Children’s hospital.

The hammer has fallen hard on the State Government and Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson, especially considering the lack of information that has been released to the public.

ANF State Secretary Janet Reah accused Ms Sanderson of throwing nurses “under the bus yet again” in her explanation of the incident.

“It’s disappointing to see another instance of gaslighting by this government,” Ms Reah said.

“Why hasn’t the family received the information they need? Why hasn’t the CCTV footage been released?”

“We need to be allowed the level of transparency this government has promised us again and again.”
