The Rumour File alerted us back in June that an application had been made to close Canning Highway for a Bon Scott tribute in 2020, on Sunday that rumour was confirmed by the State Government that the AC/DC tribute concert would close the Perth Festival.

Highway to Hell will be the world’s longest stage at a family friendly event that will stretch 10km along the Canning Highway from Fremantle.

“I think we’re going to get thousands and thousands of people; families coming along and joining in on the spirit of what will be a very, very unique and special event,” David Templeman, the Minister for Culture and the Arts, told 6PR Breakfast.

In August, “Band Is Rolling” sent the Rumour File a video of a band rehearsing for the event.

The producer of the event, Pete Stone, also spoke with Harvey Deegan about Highway to Hell. Click here to hear the interview.
