Over 3,000 people have registered to be on the first train ride from Perth’s new High Wycombe station.

Rita Saffioti, WA Transport Minister told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live that with only 20 spots available, the high interest is promising for their Community Open Day which will launch the new Airport line.

“This is the first rail line to open for over 15 years, it’s an exciting project that goes through a tunnel under the runway, under the river, so it is a new experience. I can understand why so many West Australians want to be involved,” she told Oly.

The Airport line is set to open in 4 weeks, with Rita Saffioti confident that they will stay on track for that date.
