Three men have been charged after allegedly attempting to import nearly $100 million worth of drugs into Western Australia.

Border Force officers discovered 99 kilograms of meth-amphetamine concealed inside a shipment of latex pillows early this month.

Authorities replaced the contents with a harmless substance and then arrested the trio when they moved the cargo to a Maddington property.

They are scheduled to appear in a Perth court later today, where they face a lifetime sentence if convicted.

AFP Acting Assistant Commissioner John Tanti said it’s estimated “a million hits of meth” have been taken off the street.

“This is a significant seizure,” he said on 6PR Mornings.

“We’re well in the realm of very serious transnational organised crime … and we’re really pleased with this outcome at this juncture.”
