Three saved from shark-ravaged catamaran in Coral Sea
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority has coordinated the rescue of three people on board a catamaran 835km Southeast of Cairns in the Coral Sea.
The vessel – travelling form Vanuatu to Cairns – had been damaged following several shark attacks.

AMSA Duty Manager Joseph Zeller told Millsy and Karl onĀ 6PR Breakfast the trio were attempting to circumnavigate the globe.
“Given how long this vessel had already been at sea, it’s very unusual for this kind of thing to happen.”
