‘Tis the season… for swarming bees

All over Perth people are reporting swarms of bees forming colonies in backyards on trees, letterboxes, cars… anywhere they can cling to while they find a new place to set up home.
Speaking with Karl Langdon, bee relocation expert and owner of Wild Honey WA, Carl Maxwell said it’s the swarming season but a swarm should always be treated seriously.
“We are being mislead by some people with a statement saying ‘wait for them to leave’
“We should not wait for them to leave. Bees will not vanish.”
Mr Maxwell warned if they aren’t relocated by a professional the bees will “relocate” to somewhere like the walls or roof of house.
“This makes removing them much harder of a job,” he said.
