An Esperance man is speaking out after his wife was flown to Perth for medical treatment only to be knocked back by Fiona Stanley Hospital because there were no available beds.

Trevor Furniss told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he was shocked when he heard she would instead be moved to Bunbury.

“By that stage they couldn’t even tell me how she was getting down there, whether it was plane or ambulance or what,” Mr Furniss said.

The Country Health Service has apologised for any inconvenience caused to the family, and says demand for emergency care is always changing.
