Thugs convicted of violent attacks in popular entertainment precincts will be banned for five years from parts of the Perth CBD and Northbridge, Scarborough, Hillarys, Fremantle and Mandurah.

In his regular Wednesday segment on 6PR Breakfast, WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch told hosts Jenna Clarke and Oliver Peterson – in for Gareth Parker this week – police can also issue exclusion orders for up to six months.

WA’s top cop denied officers have too much power and stressed they would “be held to account as public servants”.
