Top cop’s shock at ages of Perth crime spree suspects
WA’s top cop has confirmed a third young boy has been charged after an alarming crime spree in Perth’s northern suburbs.
In what acting commissioner Col Blanch described as a “rampage”, police allege homes were damaged, at least one teenaged resident was confronted in their house and a car was stolen and torched in a spree across the weekend.
Three boys, aged between 11 and 15, have been charged on multiple counts, including aggravated burglary and theft. Mr Blanch expressed his surprise at the ages of the alleged culprits in an interview with 6PR’s Gareth Parker this morning.

“Interestingly, the people we’ve charged are two 15-year-old’s … and an 11-year-old,” he said.
“That is very, very young for offences that are very, very serious across a number of days.
“These are serious consequences for people who are probably just trying to get by in society and save up their money, and then they lose things that are most valuable and dear to them.
“So I do feel very sorry for the victims for those types of crimes.”
