‘Totally geared to exploiting you’: Dick Smith slams Facebook’s deep fake ad response
One of Australia’s most renowned businessman is, sadly, not exempt from the newest deeply-troubling online advertising trend: deep fakes.
High-profile people like Mr Smith, David Koch and Gina Rinehart are being digitally manipulated to add credence to scams across Facebook and other social media platforms.
Mr Smith told Gary Adshead on 6PR Breakfast he’s had enough of it, and is taking no shortcuts in blaming the tech giants for their apparent apathy.
“I say to people who are listening don’t advertise on these platforms, because you’ll end up losing your credibility,” Mr Smith said.
