UPDATE: Kellerberrin local Peter Mitchell has shared his own perspective on the violent incident, having known both the victim and perpetrator.

Mr Mitchell told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he is one of many locals currently trying to make some sense of the situation.

“My knowledge of him was always happy at work,” Mr Mitchell said.

“He’d be the first one to get up and give you a wave; no different to Terry. They were all good people.”

Press PLAY to hear more of the personal stories behind the Kellerberrin shooting

Two men are dead after a day-long manhunt in the country town of Kellerberrin which froze time throughout the Wheatbelt.

Lachlan Bowles allegedly took his own life yesterday afternoon after shooting Terry Czernowksi, who died in hospital; so far a motive for the attack hasn’t been made public.

Press PLAY to hear more about the tragedy

Kellerberrin Shire CEO Raymond Griffiths told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast it’s rocked the tightly-knit community.

“For the community to do what they did yesterday – stay indoors and work with each other – was great to see, even with all the tragedy,” Mr Griffiths said.
