Transport plan for Grand Final day revealed
The state government says every train and bus will be utilised and the network extended to get people to and from Optus stadium, and around the city on Grand Final day.
Transport Minister Rita Saffioti told Mick Collis, filling in for Millsy on 6PR Afternoons, operating hours have been extended.
“Across the entire network we will be utilising every bus and every train,” she said.
“We’re also extending the pre-match bus services … to around four hours before the game and then also the post-match bus services will be extended for two hours.
“We’re also having the Armadale and Thornlie trains stopping at Stadium station early on Saturday morning, and also providing more train services.
“We’re doing what we can to move people around, and also to make sure people can get there in plenty of time for the pre-match entertainment.”
Public transport will be free for Grand Final ticket holders.
