Trump found liable of sexual abuse, but avoids rape charge
Former US president Donald Trump has been found liable of sexually abusing writer E Jean Carroll and defaming her by branding her a liar, but the jury in the civil trial has found he did not rape her.
Mr Trump had previously denied he had ever met Ms Carroll, a statement that was rejected by the jury.
6PR and Nine News US correspondent Alison Pitrowski told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the case is unprecedented.
“This is the first time in US history a former US President has been found liable of both battery and defamation,” Ms Pitrowski said.
