Two children discharged from hospital after sea lion attack in Lancelin
Two young children have been discharged from hospital after being attacked by a sea lion north of Perth.
The boy and girl, both under ten suffered non-life-threatening injuries after they were bitten in Lancelin yesterday morning.
Owner of Turquoise Safaris in Jurien Bay, Kane Crollig, told Gareth Parker that although sea lions are generally quite friendly, they can become dangerous.
“They are very cute,” he said.
“They are very curious, and curiosity does tend to get the better of them sometimes,
“Obviously, interacted in with the wrong way, they can become very aggressive.”
