Vaccine mandates needed to tackle patient apathy, doctors argue
Five million older Australians are at risk from preventable diseases, according to the The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
The dramatic plunge in vaccinations has spurred the GP representative body to push for a new national plan to ensure adult vaccines are distributed and used properly.
“I don’t think it’s entirely to do with a rejection of the science or vaccinations; I think it’s a little bit of complacency,” RACGP Vice President Michael Clements told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast.
“People have seen Covid around for a long time now; they don’t have that sense of urgency.”
