The world’s first cancer vaccine has been shown to prevent melanoma reappearing in patients for as long as three years, researchers claim.

A long-standing trial into the mRNA-4157/V940 along with immunotherapy drugs produces results which potentially revolutionise cancer treatment.

Melanoma Insitute Australia Co-Director Georgina Long told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings it’s especially important here, where skin cancer is a prevalent killer.

I mean, we’ve got a beautiful country, we’ve got to get out there and enjoy it. But we still have to remind ourselves to do it safely,” Professor Long said.
