Vaccine trials could change the game in cancer treatment
The world’s first cancer vaccine has been shown to prevent melanoma reappearing in patients for as long as three years, researchers claim.
A long-standing trial into the mRNA-4157/V940 along with immunotherapy drugs produces results which potentially revolutionise cancer treatment.
Melanoma Insitute Australia Co-Director Georgina Long told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings it’s especially important here, where skin cancer is a prevalent killer.
“I mean, we’ve got a beautiful country, we’ve got to get out there and enjoy it. But we still have to remind ourselves to do it safely,” Professor Long said.
