The traditional sausage sizzle is in question with one vegan mother in Victoria demanding their local Auskick team ban beef sausages for post-match events.

Pediatric Dietitian Dr Kyla Smith told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live that banning beef sausages doesn’t solve the problem and non-meat alternatives are not necessarily a cost effective option.

“The healthier options that are being proposed often aren’t actually any healthier than a humble sausage,” Dr Smith said.
