Liberal Senator for WA Michaelia Cash says the upcoming vote for an Indigenous Voice to parliament will likely result in a 50-50 split.

Speaking to Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings, Cash said the referendum shouldn’t go ahead.

“When you look at what political commentators are saying, they are saying that at the absolute best – regardless of the outcome – this nation is going to be split evenly down the middle,” Ms Cash said.

“It is incumbent on any Prime Minister who knows that to provide the leadership to Australians and prevent that from taking place.”
