‘Vote for them, not for us’: Pearson’s final plea to referendum voters

One of the architects behind the Yes Campaign’s appeal to the Australian public, Noel Pearson is wrapping up eight weeks travelling around the country in his attempt to carry the weight of an at-times seemingly insurmountable argument.

During his last stop in WA before the Referendum on Saturday, Mr Pearson told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he still doesn’t doubt the opposition to the Voice, but has been galvanised by the support he has seen first-hand.

“We know that the over-55 demographic has been described as being hard against it, but this eight weeks has shown me there is mobs of them on side,” Mr Pearson said.

“Either way this vote is not about us, it’s not about me; it’s about the next generation. Vote for them, not for us.”
