WA drivers urged to buckle up after ‘horror run’ of road deaths
WA’s Road Safety Commissioner has urged drivers to slow down on our roads after fatal crashes increase in the past month.
At least 17 people have been killed on the WA’s roads since October 10, including four over the weekend.
Adrian Warner told Oly Peterson on Perth Live that a ‘staggering’ number of fatalities happened when drivers weren’t wearing seatbelts.
“We’ve had 19 people die this year in crashes, 16 on regional roads who weren’t seatbelts,” he said.
“It’s a big factor, and if you get one thing to do, it’s get people to buckle up.”

There have now been 91 deaths on WA’s regional roads in 2022, making it the highest year-to-date figure since 2016.
