WA Premier Roger Cook has announced plans to establish a Canberra-based embassy-style office to represent the state’s interests.

Liberal WA Senator Michaelia Cash and Patrick Gorman Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister and Member for Perth spoke with Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.

“I think [Cook’s] plan for a WA embassy in Canberra is a stark admission that the Albanese-Labor Government in the first instance doesn’t care about Western Australia,” Ms Cash said.

“I always say you can never have too many voices advocating for WA’s interest…getting the WA state government in there as well is a really useful addition, I welcome it,” Mr Gorman said.
