1976 Brownlow Medallist Graham Moss has detailed a horrific high-speed crash in which he walked away with a “bruised thumb”.

He was travelling with his wife and friends in the state’s Great Southern on cruise control in an area of little traffic when the vehicle came off the road ploughing 100 metres through rough terrain.

The other passengers weren’t as lucky suffering broken ribs, a broken collarbone and sternum.

After the car came to a stop it’s technology kicked-in, sensing a crash, and dispatched local emergency services to the scene.

“A lot of people criticise the health department … but in this particular occasion we couldn’t have had a better service,” he said on 6PR Mornings.

“From the local Ravensthorpe Hospital and ambulance services, and fire brigade and police, to the Royal Flying Doctor Service which is fantastic.

“It was just amazing.”
