On Monday afternoon, police responded to an aggravated assault, which led to multiple tasers being deployed and, finally, the alleged perpetrator being shot twice.

WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch explained to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont how the events unfolded.
“I’ve watched the body-worn footage. It’s very confronting, but our police officers did the job that I asked them to do,” he said.

The Commissioner also updated our listeners on the search for the surfer reportedly attacked by a shark and confirmed that it is now a recovery effort.
