The head of the WA Police Union is urging the state government to provide more resources following a large brawl in Northbridge at the weekend.

As many as 200 people were involved a large fight in the entertainment precinct in the early hours of Sunday morning.

11 people have been charged an an officer was allegedly punched in the face.

Union President Harry Arnott told Gareth Parker on Mornings, backup to support officers in Northbridge had to come from Ellenbrook, 30 kilometres away.
