WA taxi drivers to join class action against Uber
WA taxi and hire car drivers are joining a class action against Uber; the Victorian Supreme Court claim is now stretching nationwide with Queensland and New South Wales also jumping on board.
From today, drivers who have had their livelihoods impacted by Uber’s operations will be able to register to join their Victorian counterparts to take on Uber.
A representative from the law firm leading the charge says they spoke with West Australian taxi drivers last night about the move.
“I think they feel done badly by, and that Uber is a large company that’s made a lot of money by not playing by the rule and that they’re interested in recovering some compensation,” Maurice Blackburn Lawyers Senior Associate, Elizabeth O’Shea told 6PR Breakfast.
