The state’s struggling tourism industry will suffer further while a cap remains on international arrivals.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Monday said borders would reopen to double-vaccinated visa holders from February 21, as COVID-19 cases and ICU admissions continue to decline

Premier Mark McGowan yesterday announced WA’s arrivals from overseas would be capped at 530, among a raft of new high case load settings.

Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Andrew McKeller told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast the clock is ticking on Western Australia to lift travel restrictions.

“The request to the WA government will be to set a clear timetable, to set the criteria for when you can join the rest of the country,” he said.
