Roger Cook joined Oliver Peterson in the studio to take listeners’ calls and explain the messaging behind the WA government’s brand new tourism campaign.

Speaking on Perth Live, the Tourism Minister said they are “looking for really iconic experiences and unique opportunities to really get out there in our pristine wilderness.”

“And that’s what Western Australia has.”

Here’s your first glimpse at the 60-second advertisement the McGowan government hopes will inspire global tourists to Western Australia.

The $15 million ‘Walking On A Dream’ campaign launched today features two WA-born Aboriginal performers, Rika Hamaguchi and Ian Wilkes, and a recreated hit song from global superstars Empire Of The Sun, led by WA-raised frontman Luke Steele.

The intrastate, interstate and international campaign will underpin Tourism WA’s marketing activities for at least the next five years, with shorter 30-second videos highlighting unique WA destinations like Ningaloo Reef, Margaret River and the Bungle Bungle Range.
