As the school holiday draws near, it is important for drivers (especially those with caravans) to prioritise safe driving practices when sharing the road with trucks.

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has teamed up with renowned comedian Jimmy Rees to educate drivers on safely sharing the road with trucks.

NHVR spokesperson Michelle Tayler spoke with Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.

“What the statistics are telling us is about 70 per cent of all severe incidents involving a truck and a car is, unfortunately, the car driver’s fault,” Ms Taylor said.
