Ambulance ramping hours have reached a record-high, with 4790 hours spent outside of WA hospitals this month.

AMA WA President, Dr. Michael Page told Simon Beaumont on 6PR’s Perth Today, “What we want to hear from both the government and the alternative government is a clear plan to address this crisis of hospital capacity that we have here in Western Australia.”

“I’ve heard many explanations and excuses and many vague plans to address it but the fundamental issue is that we don’t have enough capacity in our hospital system,” Dr Page continued.

Dr Page said, “Ramping is not an ambulance problem it’s a hospital problem.”
