We need to test more people: infectious disease expert
Thousands of people flocked to Perth beaches on the hottest April day we’ve ever seen, reaching a top of 39.5 on Saturday, but a local infectious disease expert says the scenes have him worried.
Although the beachgoers may not have felt any symptoms associated with COVID-19, they could still be carrying the disease, and Dr Clay Golledge says Australia is behind when it comes to testing people.
“We need to test a lot more people, even people who aren’t showing any symptoms,” he told 6PR Breakfast.
