West Aussie gin producer makes history winning ‘best gin in the world’
‘Win for the Gin’ told the John Hughes Hyundai Rumour File on Monday that a Perth craft gin distiller, Old Youngs in the Swan Valley, was to be recognised on a world stage as the best craft gin maker.
The rumour was confirmed when the owner of Old Youngs, James Young, told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast his gin won two of the world’s most coveted gin awards at the prestigious ‘The Icon of Gins’ competition in the UK.
It’s the first time an Australian distillery has ever won the ‘Craft Producer of the Year’ title and only the second time an Australian distiller has won ‘Brand Innovator of the year.’
“To win an international award – is just next level,” Mr Young said.
