It appears Australian land speed record holder Rosco McGlashan doesn’t know when to slow down.

The motor racing stalwart told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast’s ‘West Aussie Great’ segment about his fascination with going faster, and his latest attempt to break his own mark in a new vehicle – the Aussie Invader 5 – that was 11 years in the making.

“I quit school at 12 to go and break the land speed record,” he told Parker.

“At that time I loved cars… I used to drive to school, drive around the place, I got in trouble a few times, but it was just a fascination I had with cars and my motor racing, in particular the land speed record.”
