Western Australia’s scorching summer spells trouble for produce industry
The hot summer WA has experienced has been detrimental to the produce industry, with minimal rainfall during the crop growing season.
Managing Director of Karintha Orchards Donnybrook Richard Licardello told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live, “It’s been one of the hardest years on record.”
“It’s been a very dry, hot summer, it’s been one of the worst on record, the fruit trees don’t like that, we normally have a few rain events after Christmas, but this year we’ve had nothing at all,” Mr Licardello continued.
