A WA couple who are stranded in Sydney following their daughter’s tragic death have been granted an exemption to return home.

Alain D’Argent raised his plight with 6PR Mornings on Monday, saying he and his wife, Gillian D’Argent, were being denied G2G passes and could not return home.

They had travelled to Sydney after their daughter, Robyn, took her own life on December 1.

Since then, police have gotten in touch with Alain and given the couple some good news.

“They’ve given us a G2G pass, which is open, there’s no expiry date on it, for me and Gillian to go back, which we’re very, very happy with,” Alain said on 6PR Mornings.

Alain and Gillian will still have to complete two weeks in hotel quarantine at their own expense.

“At least we know we can come home, where as before we had no where to call home,” Alain said.

“We’ve now got somewhere to call home again.”

Crisis support is available on Lifeline on 13 11 14.
