The Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) is calling for JobSeeker benefits to be increased for all Australians, not just for those over the age of 55.

ACOSS CEO Cassandra Goldie told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live the government has turned its back on the community for too long.

“We didn’t recommend any distinction between any age groups at all,” said Ms Goldie.

“People are desperate… we need to protect people who fall out of paid work in this very tricky environment.”
