The recent state budget was a reminder that iron ore remains Western Australia’s golden goose.

But that reliance is one reason why uranium mining is back in the spotlight.

Last month, the state Liberal Party announced it would overturn a ban on uranium mining if they take out the next election.

Cauldron Energy is a uranium explorer in WA and its chief executive officer told Jamie Burnett on Weekends that now is the time to overturn the ban, and ease the state’s financial reliance on iron ore royalties.
