Will Schofield: This shouldn’t be a headhunt, this is a club-wide issue
Former West Coast player Will Schofield was scathing in his assessment of West Coast’s current situation, expressing his disappointment in the blame being placed on various people at the club.
“This shouldn’t be a headhunt for anyone. Adam Simpson, Trevor Nisbett, Warren Kofoed.”
Schofield told Adam Papalia on Wide World of Sports during Tuesday’s program that this issue was club-wide and scapegoats shouldn’t be used as a pressure release valve.
Schofield was particularly scathing of West Coast’s decision to announce they were parting ways with Warren Kofoed, the head of strength and conditioning at the club.
“Seems ridiculous to release that information when they did. I think it was aimed at releasing a pressure valve.
“Do you reckon there will be some other people who lose their job at the end of the year? I think there will be. Why aren’t they announcing that now?”
“I thought that was dreadful timing.”
