Despite previous forecasts of a dry June, the last 24 hours has washed away previous rainfall records for the month.

Bureau of Meteorology weather reporter Kate Doyle told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons 71.2mm of rain was recorded in the Perth Metro area by this morning.

“That is the wettest June day there with 31 years of data,” Ms Doyle said.
