Gary Adshead’s querying of Basil Zempilas’ future has become as much of a fixture of 6PR Mornings as the Lord Mayor’s weekly segments.

And while the often-divisive personality has downplayed any potential notion of running for Premier or even a federal position, he has now confirmed that “there are considerations” as to where he will head next year.

“What I can say is I still have some time; I don’t have to make up my mind today,” Mr Zempilas said.

“I’ll have a little time over Christmas with my family, we’ll open some presents and we’ll see what Santa brings, shall we?”
